YOUTHS GUILTY OF ASSAULT
Young Men Shot With Air-Rifle ( N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, Feb. 12. He was considering a period tn the detention centre for two youths who shot two young men in the rear with an air-rifle, Mr R. M. Grant. S.M., said in the Auckland Magistrate’s Court. Ross William Craddock, aged 19. workman, and Leonard Francis Leo. aged 21. workman, each pleaded rtilty to charges of assault and of discharging a dangerous missile.
The police prosecutor. Sergeant F. Anderson, said that two young men were standing at the corner of Marie street and Orchard street, Avondale, at about 2 15 p.m. on Saturday. November 25. Accused were standing on the opposite side of the street.
One of the accused raised the air rifle and shot one of the men in the thigh. The other accused took the rifle, reloaded it. and shot the other complainant in the back of the thigh. "You are convicted on all charges." said the Magistrate “You are remanded for one week for a probat on officer's report and I will ask for a report on your elegibility for detention centre."
