COUNTRY WOMEN OF WORLD
President’s Visit
The world president of the Associated Country Women of the World (Mrs B. van Beekhoff, of Holland) will visit Christchurch later in the year on her way to the A.C.W.W. conference in Melbourne in September. This was announced at the first meeting of the year of the Canterbury provincial executive of the Women’s Division of Federated Farmers. held yesterday. The past Dominion president (Mrs O. Haldane, of Golden Bay) who is visiting Christchurch, was welcomed to the meeting by Mrs J Blamires.
Mrs M. Frizell, winner of the rorld A.C.W.W. essay competition on ‘‘How I broaden my horizons.” was congratulated on her success. Her entry was one of 78 from 13 countries. Mrs D. Boyd was thanked for entertaining Miss Vikieiie Boruvon, a Fijian trainee, during her Christmas vacation from Stratheona. The housekeeping secretary. Miss R. A. Ambridge, reported that one housekeeper was in occupation, 'and appealed for assistance in emergency cases.
