TROTTING COURTESAN TO WIN AGAIN
Yaldhurst Handicap At Addington
Courtesan, a decisive winner at Hororata last month when having only her second start for the season, should go close to winning again in the Yaldhurst Handicap at the Canterbury Park Trotting Club’s autumn meeting at Addington today.
When she won at Hororata, Courtesan trotted the 13 furlongs in the smart time of 3min 37 4-ssec. If she shows the same speed in today’s race, she should leave most of her rivals struggling a long way from home.
Fourina and Doctor Kyle will form a strong bracket for their Chertsey trainer, J L. Behrns. Fourina raced with distinction at Forbury
Park, gaining a win and a second. She was beaten by a capable trotter in Minnow at her most recent start. Doctor Kyle was a most impressive winner at Ashburton on Boxing Day at his last start, trotting the 12 furlongs in the smart time of 3min 13 3-ssec. Doctor Kyle broke at the New Brighton tr;als on Thursday, but if he races up to his best will have bright prospects even from the difficult mark of 48 yards. Full Measure has been placed in two of her last three starts, her second to Adee on the first night at Forbury Park being a smart effort. She looks favourably placed
on the front mark to make another bold showing. Bonny Rachael and Mayfair Star are other capable trotters engaged on the front
Foam, which will start from 36 yards, has been placed in her last three starts. She is trotting better than at any other stage of her career and should be capable of another bold showing. La Gloria and John Black are others exjpected to add interest to the finish. The double will be run on the President’s and Harewood Handicaps. Meadow Scott, Seafleld Lad and Massacre form a likely trio in the first leg. and Winona, Aerobee and Guiness should do best in the second. Fine weather is forecast and the track will be hard and fast.
