TEAM MANAGER FOR PERTH
Nomination Of Mr E. Lunn
The Canterbury Athletic Centre has nominated Mr E. Lunn, of Christchurch, for the position of athletics sectional manager in the New Zealand team which is to visit Perth for the British Empire Games later this year Mr Lunn is the president of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association.
Provincial records approved at a meeting of the centre this week were:—
Women’s Long Jump: 18ft 9jin. Miss L. J. Anderson (Technical). Women’s One Mile: 4min 56.8 sec. Miss M. A. Chamberlain (Technical). Junior Three Miles: 14min 40.4 sec, K. J. Connell (Shirley). Under 17 440 yards: 52.55ec, B. Sheard (High School).
Baby Scalded. —An eight-month-old Devonport baby was badly scalded when boiling water from an electric jug fell on hiim at his home yesterday. He is Murray William Heke, of 1 Mackay avenue, Devonport. —(P.A.)
