INDUSTRIAL HEALTH
Hornby Clinic Third In City
The Hornby Industrial Health Clinic at the corner of Shands and Aymes roads opened on Thursday. The clinic is the third in the Christchurch area, the others being at Woolston and Lyttelton. “The nurse in charge, Miss J. M. R. Wood, will work in the same way as the nurse at Woolston, dividing her time between work connected with the clinic and public health nurse duties in the district, said the medical officer of health (Dr. L. F. Jepson) yesterday.
“One of her first jobs will be to visit factories in her area, to give information about the facilities available at the clinic and to offer advice and help in industrial hygiene and safety and in the prevention of industrial accidents.
"The clinic building is still not properly finished, and the grounds have to be put in order. When this work is completed, probably in eight to 10 weeks’ time, an official opening will be held.’’
