Croquet MATCH AT TIMARU
One Grade To Canterbury

Canterbury won only one of the four grades against South Canterbury in an interprovincial croquet match at Timaru today. Canterbury won the B grade, 5-*. but lost the A grade, 3-5, the intermediate grade, 2-7, and the C grade. 3-4. Results were:—
A Grade Singles.—Mrs E. Trainor beat Mrs B. Darby. 26-17: Mrs A. Paddy lost to Mrs H. Welsh. 19-26; Mrs H. A. Mahar beat Mrs H. Macmillan, 19-18: Mrs I. Lennon lost to Mrs W. Walker, 10-19; Mrs M. Hosking lost to Mrs W. Saltan, 7-18. Doubles.—Mesdames Trainor and Paddy lost to Mesdames Darby and Welsh, 10-13; Mesdames Mahar and Lennon beat Mesdames Macmillan and Walker. 26-7; Mesdames Hosking and Sharp lost to Mesdames Salton and McKinnon, 16-26. Intermediate Grade Singles—Mrs R. Harris lost to Mrs C. Bishop. 14-26; Mrs A. Chambers lost to Mrs G. Cleeve. 18-26; Mrs J. Jones lost to Mrs E. Cameron. 12-19: Mrs L. Smith lost to Mrs L. Wrestall. 18-26; Mrs W. Barrow beat Mrs R. WitheU, 12-4: Mrs G Moffett lost to Mrs F. Isitt, 0-5. Doubles.—Mesdames Harris and Chambers lost to Mesdames Bishop and Cleeve. 8-26; Mesdames Jones and Smith lost to Mesdames Cameron and Wrestall, 17-26; Mesdames Barrow and Moffett beat Mesdames WitheU and Isitt, 17-14.
