Now One Region N.Z., Australia
IBM has reorganised its Asia-Ps-ciflc area, the area general manager (Mr J W Sehlaepfer) announced at the IBM sales convention in Sydney
Mr A G Moyes, formerly general manager of IBM Australia Proprietary, is oppnin'ed to general manager of the new region wh : di now comprises only New Z“’land and Australia. The region previously included Malaya. Singapore, and Indonesia Mr W J Wills is continuing as general manager of IBM New Zealand Policy
On the announcement. Mr Wills said:
“The policy of employing New Zealanders at a 1! levels of the New Zealand operations will continue."
He followed on by giving the reasons for the grouping of Australia and New Zealand into one region as: “The close degree of the economic affinitv of the two coun'ries the opportunity to strengthen further the data processing support facilities available to IBM users, and the ability to rationalise development and manufacturing activities within the one New Zealand a-nd Australia region.”
