The Waikato Trotting Club's second night meeting of the season was held at the Claudeland’s Raceway on Saturday night in fine weather before an attendance of 10.000. With the rank outsider, Monlto winning the first leg of the double and paying £92 3s 6d. there was a large double of £856 5s when Cindy Lee won the second leg by a nose from the off-course substitute Dawn Smoke. The totalisator on course handled £36.626 15s. including £5537 15s on the doubles, compared with £49.398 on the second night last year. Results:—
