University Entrance
Sir.—lt would be interesting to hear from the University what percentage of those who sat the last University entrance examination passed I have heard that some big schools did not have any students who passed. If this is correct, surely so. te of those who were accredited were more fortunate than some of those who sat the examination and failed —Yours, etc.. JUSTICE January 25. 1962
(The chairman of the University Grants Committee (Dr. F. J Llewellyn) said that the percentage of those sitting the examination in 1961 who passed was 20 4 Over the last 10 years the percentage had ranged between 20 and 26. These passes added to the percentage of passes by accreditation brought the total pass rate for university entrance up to approximately 62 to 64 per cent.
