Situation.—An anti-cyclone lies across the North Island while a trough of low pressure is approaching Fiordland from the west. Forecast:—

Nelson and Marlborough.—North to north-west winds, mainly moderate; but strong about the Sounds; partly cloudy and warm. Outlook: partly cloudy.

Buller and Westland.—Light to moderate northerlies predominating; cloudy and mild with showers developing in South Westland. Outlook: showers.

Canterbury.—Moderate to fresh north-easterlies predominating about the coast and north-westerlies inland; partly cloudy and warm. Outlook: partly cloudy.
