OVERSEAS CAR DRIVERS
Mayoral Welcome Overseas racing drivers: visiting Christchurch were; yesterday accorded a Mayoral, reception in the Mayor's' chambers. Among those present were S Moss. .1 Brabham. B McLaren. R Salvador! R Flockhart. A Glass, and R Parnell, the, manager of (he Rowmaker Yen-nar racing team Mayer 'Mr G Manning) we'comed the visitors to the citv and said he hoped 'he weather remained good fo- the meeting He congratulated the Motor Racing Club on organising the meeting, and said it enhanced the reputation of the city. The president of the Motor Racing Club 'Mr J. A Brewer) said that the oeoale o f Christchurch had got riaht behind motor sport in ‘he city, and supported it to a greeter degree than in other New Zealand cities. Its success was also attributable to the sucoort give® bv the Citv Council and the Mayor. Mr Parnell, on behalf of “he drivers, thanked the Mayor for his comments.
