New Zealand outclassed Indonesia 6-0 today to climb two places past Belgium and Malaya to the fifth unofficial points position in the internaticmal hockey tournament Though inclined to be lethargic compared with their usual form the New Zealanders made Indonesia look helpless
The Indonesians played roughly and the New Zealanders had occasions for frayed tempers, but there were no incidents.
The inside-right. Turner, in spite of missing several openings, scored three for New Zealand, but his fumblings emphasised that the winning margin could have been even greater. Other scorers were the centrehalf, E. Barnes, the outsideright, B. R. Judge and the centre-forward, (Z. O. McGregor. With the return of Judge New Zealand was at nearly full strength and continued to improve in attack. Nevertheless the side seemed a trifle over-confident and allowed Indonesia occasional scope. After tailing to take advantage of two passes from McGregor, Turner scored from a third in the eighth minute. In spite of their supremacy, the Kiwis took 15 minutes to score again, when Barnes moved in and drove a pass picked up outside the circle. Shortly before half-time Judge accepted a cross from the leftwinger. T. W Blake, and increased the lead.
In the second half. Turner, McGregor and Turner sewed in that order.
