Child Falls On Fence Stakes
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Jan. 18. A three-year-oid boy had a remarkable escape from serious injury when he fell 12 feet from a second-storey balcony in Hopper street, Wellington, today, and struck an iron stake fence. The force of the impact bent one of the stakes. The child, Joseph Taueki, was taken to Wellington Hospital suffering severe lacerations to the jaw. bruises to the face and shock. His condition tonight was fair.
