Two Leading Men Dropped .(N.Z.P.A -Reuter —Copi/Hght) MADRAS. January 16. The all-rounder A. G. Kripal Singh and the legspinner, S. P. Gupte, two of India's leading cricketers, have been omitted from the team to tour the West Indies in February, March, and April. The two players were dropped from the last two tests with the MC.C, while a subcommittee of the Indian Board of Control investigated allegations at misbehaviour off the field during the third test with the M.C.C. at New Delhi It was announced today that the investigating subcommittee had unanimously decided to advise the Indian selectors not to consider Kripal Singh for test matches up to December 31 this year for reasons “other than cricket.” The sub-committee cleared Gupte. but, though available, his name was not among the 16 for the tour announced today by the chairman of the Indian selectors. Mr V. S Hazare. The players chosen Include the 11 who beat England in the fifth test yesterday. The team is:—N. Contractor (captain). Nawab of Pataudi (vice-captain), M Jaisimha, V, Mehra V. Manjrekar. P. Umrigar. A Durani, C. Bordv. R Nadkarnl, D. Sardesai, F Engineer, R. Desai, V. lianjane. R. Surti, E. Prasanna, and B. Kunderam.

Ghulam Ahmed, the former Indian test off-spinner, will manage the team.
