Wool Prices Steady On Second Day At Auckland

AUCKLAND, Jan. 17

The second day of the Auckland wool sale today followed very closely the pattern of ‘he first, with a firm market for all descriptions, the same spread of buying, and little change ia price Levels. Better style fine crossbreds were in keen demand with Continental buyers dominating the bidding. Prices at times were in seller#’ favour. Though the Continent were again the principal operators they had some support from Bradford on better length wools and from America on lines suited to their requirements. There has been practically a total clearance at the auction. The day's offering consisted of 24.472 bales, making a total of 53,533 for the sale Prices for early shorn wools of average to good quality were slightly up on Monday. The same applied to lambs' wool with the exception of down, which was a little easier. Crossbreds were Id a pound up but inferior dips maintained the earlier level. Good length wool was again eagerly sought.
