CHARTERIS BAY MARATHON
Finn Class Boats Do Well Finn class boats gained the first five places in the annual marathon run by the Charteris Bay Yacht Club on Saturday. Twenty-eight starters raced 16 miles from Charteris Bay and bacK by way of Shelly Bay. Purau. and Governor’s Bay. A Light south-west wind changed to east half-Way through the race. The first five boats had been sailing in the area for the last week, practising for the national championships. Results (showing handicaps and finishing times) were:— Fintahi (P. Mander). 15min. 4:56.18, 1: Pandora (D. Bryson), 15mln. 4:56.38, 2; Finlandia (A. Mackenzie). 15min. 4:57.9. 3; Fintare (G. Hobson). 15min, 4:59.51. 4; Loasin (P. Pritchett), 15min. 4:59.56. 5. Results of P class racing on Saturday were: Senior; Magic (R. Neale) scratch, 45.1, 1: Noddy (S. Currie). 2min 30sec. 48.16. 2: Puck (D. Brandt), 2min :?osec, 48.17. 3. Junior: Pepe (N. Turner), Imin 30sec. 49.57. 1; Seahorse (P. Currie), 3min, 57.58, 2. Twenty-one starters competed in the C.Y.M.B.C. pennant race yesterday. Results were:— Griffin (O. Bowron), 6min, ."5.5. 1; Highlite (T. Mace), Bmin, 55.17, 2; Witchcraft (R. Neale), scratch. 55.19. 3 Results of P class racing held yeterday were: Senior: Puck (D. Brandt), 4min. 7125. 1; Noddy (S.
