Leggat Run Out For 42
(Special Crepdt. NXP4.) ' CAPE TOWN, January 6. , Mr J. G. Leggat, manager of the New Zealand cricket team, made a brief “comeback” in a festival charity match today and scored 42 before being run out. He and J. R. Reid were members of R. McLean’s eleven who
played Western Province at Newland*.
McLean’s eleven consisting of present and former internationals, scored 290, with Reid 24.
The Springboks who played in the recent test and were also in the team were McLean, Farrar. Bland, Elgie and Barlow. Western Province won the match by 26 runs after a first innings of 316 for 9 declared.
