Purchase Of Uniforms
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, Jan. 5. For the third year in succession, some parents are taking advantage of the Social Security scheme to buy secondary school uniforms for their children. Under this arrangement one year’s family benefit can be advanced to the parents for the purchase of clothing
When the scheme was started in 1960 about 1000 applications were received at the Auckland office. Last year the total was about 400
So far this year not a great number have taken advantage of the plan, but applications are usually made through to April.
