San Francisco Hotel Fire
(N.Z.P. A.-Reuter—Copyright) SAN FRANCISCO, January 4. A fire swept through the upper storeys of the Hale Hotel in central San Francisco yesterday, trapping several tenants. One man died and tw*o others were burned. Some tenants leaned from windows shouting for help as firemen swung ladders up to them and flames belched from the top storeys. People fled through the lobby carrying armloads of possessions and one man fled naked until someone threw a blanket over his shoulders.
