A record number of cars arriving in New Zealand on ships were handled -by the Automobile Association'(Canterbury) in December.
Fifty-two cars had been brought into tlie country, and one dispatched, said the general secretary (Mr E S Palliser) yesterday. Of the 52 inward-bound cars. 39 were owned by servicemen who had bought them in Malaya. During the month, the association arranged the transport of 46 cars on the interisland steamer express. This number was not as high as for the previous December. Mr Palliser said.
