JUNIOR MATCH AT GREENDALE
After losing the toss and being sent into bat, the Christchurch Suburban XI scored 295 on the first day of a two-day junior sub-association cricket match against Malvern, at Greendale yesterday. At stumps. Malvern’s score stood at 197 for four wickets. C. Adams being 74, not out. The most successful batsmen for Suburban were L. Sparkes, who compiled a sound 83. K. Nelson 76. and J. Feldwick 40. Bowling for Malvern. D. Stone took four wickets for 68 runs.
three of the dismissal* being through stumpings by the wicketkeeper. Adam*. Malvern was given a good start through a prolific second-wicket partnership between Adams and Stone, who made 58 M.
