Canterbury Has Two Wins (NX Frets Association) WANGANUI, Sept M. All the favoured teams won their matches on the first da,Y of the Beatty Cup inter-provin-cial softball tournament at Wanganui today, although some of them survived anxious moments in doing ao. After three rounds. Hutt Valley and Wanganui have three wins to their credit. Also unbeaten are Auckland and Wellington. both of which had a bye tn today’s aeries. Results:— First Round.—Hutt Valley S. Canterbury 0; Wanganui U. Otago 2; Waikato 9. West Coast 0; Rotorua 7. Southland 6; Wellington a. Manawatu 1. Second Round.—Wanganui 11. West Coast 7; Canterbury 12. Otago 3: Hutt Valley 1. Waikato 0: Rotorua 7. Manawatu 3; Auckland 4 Southland 3. Third Round.—Wanganui 19. Waikato 7; Hutt Valley 11. Otago 6: Canterbury 7. West Coast 3; Wellington 11. Rotorua 2; Auckland 9. Manawatu 3.
