18,241 TV Sets Licensed
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Dec. 20. Just over a third of the 18,241 television sets licensed in New Zealand at December 15 were in the Wellington or Christchurch districts. The other 12,042 were in and about Auckland. Licences issued up to December 15 were:— Auckland: Private owners 11,680; sets from nine hirers, 371; total 12,042. Wellington: Private owners 2600; sets from two hirers 98; total 2696. Christchurch: Private owners 3431; sets from five hirers, 77; total 3503.
