BEACH RESORT SANITATION

Drainage Board To Inspect An inspection of the sanitary arrangements at Taylor’s Mistake would be carried out by its district inspector late in December and in midJanuary, the Christchurch Drainage Board agreed on a request by the City Council. The council wrote that during the year there had been discussion with Taylor’s Mistake organisations and certain interim proposals designed to effect some immediate improvement in sanitation had been approved. For the freehold sections, it was proposed that an officer of tihe board should survey the area with a view to requiring the owners of the sites to comply with the Plumbing and Drainage Regulations. The Investigations would include the dispoeal from the three septic tanks in Taylor's Mistake road, and if the disposal was found to be unsatisfactory and no remedy could be found, consideration should be given to having the water closets disconnected.
