Six Overseas Players
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, December 20 Six and possibly seven nations will be represented at the international invitation tennis tournament at Auckland in January. The Auckland Lawn Tennis Association now has obtained six overseas players, including two women. It is almost certain to get a seventh and still hopes to secure an eighth, who will also be a woman. Latest acceptances are the British Davis Cup player, R Taylor, and the former Wimbledon junior, Miss J Trewby The Australian Davis Cup team member, F. Stolle, who has said he would like to play, has been formally invited. Others who have already accepted are the German, I. Buding, the two Jugoslav's now playing in Australia, N. Pilic and B Jovanovic, and the top American woman. Miss D. Hard The Mexican. Miss Y Ramirez has been invited but has not yet given an answer If she is not available, the association will seek one of the top Australians, possibly Miss L Turner, co-holder of the Wimbledon mixed doubles title. All the ranked New Zealand men and women have advised they will be available for the tournament.
