INCORRECT CLAIM
Pensions Act Conviction (N.Z. Press Association! WHANGAREI, Dec. 19 A Whangared war pensioner, Claude Reinhardt, aged 64. was convicted on five charges of filing an incorrect claim under the War Pensions Act, 1954, in the Whangarei Magistrate’s Court yesterday The charges concerned the years 1956 to 1960 inclusive. Two similar charges relating to the years 1954 and 1955 were dismissed Reinhardt (Mr P. M Mahood) denied all charges. Mr W J Meade, S.M, remanded Reinhardt until tomorrow for sentence, pending a probation officer’s report. Detective Senior-Sergeant M. J. Ross, who prosecuted, said the seven charges Involved a restitution of £1364 14s 10d, this sum being the amount overpaid to him.
