Big Rise In Malaya And Singapore A large rise in the sale of New Zealand lamb, butter, and milk powder was recorded during August in Singapore and the main centres of Malaya as a result of an intensive advertising and public relations campaign sponsored jointly by the Government and Meat Producers’ Board and the Dairy Production and Marketing Board, and organised by the New Zealand Trade Commissioner in Malaya. The aim was to win preference for New Zealand produce chiefly among existing retail buyers of lamb, butter and milk powder. All three products were the subjects of large display advertisements in the Englishlanguage newspaper “Straits Times" and twice-daily advertisements on Radio Singapore, reports “Exports News,” promotion publication of the Department of Industries and Commerce. Six first-class hotels in Malaya and Singapore held “lamb weeks” in conjunction with the campaign. Tables in hotel restaurants carried a printed card with the title “New Zealand Lamb Week” and the dish of the day: “New Zealand Lamb,”
