GRANITY HOME FLOODED
Cloudburst Makes Creek A Torrent (N.Z. Press Association) WESTPORT, Dec. 17. Heavy damage to floor coverings and furniture was caused when a wall of water swept down Granity creek and invaded the nearby home of Mr and Mrs R Roskvist on Saturday evening about 8 o'clock. A thick deposit of silt was left In various parts of the house by the flood which was caused by a cloudburst in the hills above Granity township. The level of Granity creek rose from a trickle a few inches deep to a torrent Bft 6in deep in 10 minutes. Other homes were threatened, but were not damaged. thougn water leapt to floor level at two.
