SEARCH AT OMOTO
No Trace Of Man Found (From Our Own Reporter) GREYMOUTH, Dec. 12. A large party of Greymouth policemen, assisted by members of the West Coast Deerstalkers’ Association, today made a second unsuccessful search in the bush at Omoto from which a voice was heard at least twice yesterday calling for help. The weather today was cold with frequent heavy showers and it was practically impossible for the searchers to climb the precipitous bush-covered bluff where the call was heard. No-one has been reported missing in the Grey district. The area being searched is a popular one for climbers and hunters and their voices have frequently been heard as they walked along the ridge above the bluff. The police believe that a man may have fallen from the top of the bluff and become trapped in the undergrowth. Though no calls were heard today, the search is to continue.
