Obituary MR A. A. M. TAYLOR

Mr Andrew A. M. Taylor of Wellington, naval architect to the Union Steam Ship Company since 1926 died recently. He retired in 1959 and although in ill health, accepted a Marine Department appointment as an assessor to the courts of inquiry which investigated the fire in the Holmburn and the loss of the Holmglen. He was for many years a corporate member of the Royal Institution of Naval Architects, London, and also served as honorary corresponding member in New Zealand until he retired in 1958 and was succeeded by Mr V. G Boivin, chief surveyor of ships for the Marine Department.
