VITAMINS FOR VIETNAMESE
N.Z. Red Cross Relief Thousands of vitamin tablets for the 400,000 Vietnamese made homeless by floods • in western and south-western 1 parts of the republic, are being sent by the New Zealand Red Cross Society. The North Canterbury Centre decided recently to send £lOO from the disaster relief fund to the Red Cross headquarters in Wellington for 100,000 tablets to supply 1000 people for a month. Already 200.000 tablets have been air-freighted to Saigon from New Zealand. In a cabled appeal received through the League of Red Cross Societies in Geneva from the Vietnam Red Cross, the situation is described as serious with emergency conditions continuing.
