COTTON MILL POLICY
Criticism Of Chambers
(N.Z. Press Association) NELSON. Dec. 7. “Serious alarm,” at the action of the Associated Chambers of Commerce in actively associating with other groups suggesting that the Government repudiate the legal contract made with the directors of the Nelson cotton mill, was expressed by the Nelson Chamber of Commence last night. The motion said: “We oppose the principle of any organisation declaring its intention of rescinding a legal and binding contract.” Associated Chambers advised the Nelson Chamber last evening that it was the only associated chamber out of the 50 which disagreed with the suggestion that a commission of inquiry into the cotton mill agreement be set Up.
