“Messing About In Boats”
Sir,—As an enduring friend of dear old “Ratty,’* I find your articles, “Messing About in Boats,” very interesting. They keep us older yachtsmen in touch with the activities of the younger generation. In the paragraph referring to catamarans going off shore, I was amazed to read that outboard motors are to be carried as an emergency. If this statement is true I hope you will not have to change the title of the articles to “Fooling About in Boats;” —Yours, etc., SEAMANSHIP FIRST. November 27, 1961.
