Goa Attack Repelled

The Defence Ministry said tonight that the Portuguese garrison of th* Island of Angediva, eight miles off Goa, last night repulsed an “attempted attack'* , by several ships. (Goa is a Portuguese enclave south of Bombay, and there has been, renewed agitation in India recently for the transfer of the territory to India.) The Minister’s statement did riot identify the ship< It said: “Numerous craft tried on the night of November 2425 to reach Angediva from the south and west and they were repelled, by the forces defending the island. It is not known whether there were any injured in the ships.”
