Record Bid By Ordeal
Ordeal, winner of the Worthy Qneen and Greyhoamd Handicaps at the New Zealand Cop meeting at Addington this month, will make an attempt to lower Worthy Queen’s New Zealand mile record at the New Brighton Trotting Club’s summer meeting on Saturday. Worthy’s Queen’s record of 2min 3 3-saee was established at Addington in 1934. The attempt on the record will be made immediately after the running of the second race, the Freeville Handleap. Ordeal will be driven by her part-owner and trainer. W. A. Bradley. She will have the assisttanee of a galloping pacemaker.
