Mr Holyoake’s Daughter
Miss Lynley Holyoake, a daughter of the Prime Minister, is a member of a New Zealand delegation to the Moral Re-Armament conference in Brazil next month, and Mr Holyoake was present at a farewell party for the delegation in Wellington. The party was given by Dr. D. Yu-Tang Lew, charged’affaires of the Chinese Embassy, at the embassay on Friday evening. The delegation left tor Brazil from Auckland yesterday. Mr Holyoake wished the delegation well, and messages were received from Sir Eruera Tirakatene, Rear-Admiral P. Phipps, and Mr J. K. Humm, the Secretary of Maori Affairs. The delegation includes six Maoris and six pakehas. It is led by Major K. T. Harawira, who was a padre in the Maori Battalion. The others are Miss Holyoake, Dr. J. E. Caughey, professor of neurology at the Otago Medical School, Mrs Caughey, Mr and Mrs J. Moss, of Christchurch, and their, son, Mr G. Hayes, of Hakataramea. Miss A. Harawira, and Mr and Mrs
L. Armstrong and their daughter. The conference will be held at Petropolis. about 50 miles from Rio de Janeira, and the delegation expects to be away three or four months.
