■ Christchurch To Be , Venue , The Dominion conference ' of the Institution of Engineers will be held in Christchurch , next February, the recent ' meeting of the Canterbury ' braneti was advised. . Preparations are in the i hands of a conference com- . mittee which comprises the branch executive committee with Messrs F. V. Doidge, A. W. Riddolls, P. Yeoman, E. E. ' James and E. H. Nalder. Membership of the,branch . had increased during the year from 183 to 193 members, the meeting was told. The Dobson Lecture, inaugurated this year to stimulate interest in ’ secondary school pupils contemplating engineering, had been well received by 200 Christchurch pupils.
