Anti-Dumping Measure (A.Z. Press Assn.—Coiiyrtpnt; -- LONDON. Nov. 26. The Italian Cabinet has approved what is described as an “anti-dumping bill" n* ™ has been released, savs } he a ? caa Times' R.xne correspondent. It has been disclosed, howbiU Provides for the establishment of an inter-mrnisterial committee to examine the prices of imported products which are •s-ispected of being supplied under costs. If the committee finds an effective attempt a. dumpmg ls being made, it is entitled to establish special duties on the products concerned to bring their pr-ces into line with effective production costs. The fundamental criterion m judging if the product is being dumped or not will be its market prices in the country in which it is manufactured or produced. ••If and when the bill is approved, a big range of imported products is likely to ar . a/Tect ® d - One of the first might well be motorBritain and France. Thus the non-payment of purchase duty for cars exported by Britain would probably be interpreted as a form of dumping. Action in that direction would almost certainly be urged by the Italian motor industry,” states the “Financial Times.”
