“MISS N.Z.” RETURNS
Plans For Modelling (NJS. Prats Association) AUCKLAND. Nov. 26. International beauty contents wear moot girls to a fraxsle—tout not Miss Leone Main, at Auckland. Miss Main arrived at Whenunpai today after representing New Zealand in the recent “Mier World" contest In July she contested the “Miss International” beauty contest in the United States. In between the two contests she made a strenuous modelling tour of New Zealand. Miss Main accepted the bouquet handed to her by the French airline hostess. The big crowd at the airport obviously liked the look of “Miss New Zealand.” The judges in the “Miss World” contest placed her in the final seven. Like Cinderella, Miss Main regrets that the ball is over. Beauty contests are a thing of the past to her for having competed in the international field she no longer is eligible for these contests. But at 22, Miss Main is not ready to swop her bathing suit for a housewife’s apron. She plans to continue modelling and if possible she wants to get her own programme on television in New Zealand. A film producer in London has offered her a contract if she cares to return to Britain.
