N.Z. SHEEP SHEARING
N. G. Ferguson Wins (NJS. Press Association) AUCKLAND, Nov. 26. A Hamilton shearer N. G. Ferguson, aged 25, won the Royal New Zealand sheep shearing championship at the Royal Show on Saturday night. Mr Ferguson, who is new to championship shearing, won by 4137 points from the champion for the last two years. R. B. Macdonald, of Frankton. I.. Selby, of Putaruru, was third. A top-class field included the world champion, Godfrey Bowen, bolder of the New Zealand championship in 1956. In his first competitive event for about four years, he finished fourth. A week before the championship Mr Ferguson set a personal record of 407 sheep in one day at Te Awamutu. Results.—
