Record Holder's Unlucky Run
"D Knight, holder of the x New Zealand and Australian 95 cu. in record with his V-bottom speedboat, Bel Air, is having an unlucky run this season. At lake Forsythe a conrod broke and wrecked the Humber 80 engine of his record-breaking boat. This put Knight in a very awkward position, as the South
Island 95 cu. in. championship is to be held at Lakeside on December 3. Knight is now engaged in taking the Huinber 80 engine out of his other boat. Impala. and endeavouring to have it installed and going at concert pitch in Bel Air in time for the championship at Lakeside.
Impala is as yet untried, but has the same hull design as Widget <F. Gatland) holder of the Australian and New Zealand record for 95 cu. in. hydros at, 79 mp.h. If a new motor can be obtained in time. Knight will have Impala ready for the Christmas curcuit and travel to speedboat meetings round New Zealand.
