SHINE ON DIES
Mr and Mrs A. E. Preston, of Wellington, had the misfortune recently to lose the very promising two-year-old. Shine On. The Summertime
filly, which was turned out to spell for a month yesterday week, contracted tetanus from which she died. Shine On, which was trained by B A. V. Preston at Otaki, had contested five races for one win and a second. She had a first-start victory in the Otaki Stakes at Trentham in September and ehased the highly rated Tara's Pride home in the Wellesley Stakes on the same course at the Wellington spring meeting last month. Shine On’s latest campaign was it the New Zealand Cup meeting at Riccarton.
