FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT Situation.—An anti-cyclone centred north of the Chatham Islands, extends over New Zealand. A weak trough of low pressure is approaching the south-west of the South Island. Forecast:—
Nelson, Buller and Westland.—Light to moderate variable winds; cloudy to overcast at first, with some areas of light drizzle; partly cloudy later. Temperatures moderate. Outlook: scattered light ram in Westland and Buller, but partly cloudy in Nelson. Marlborough Sounds.—Fresh to strong northwest winds; cloudy at first, otherwise partly cloudy and mild. Outlook: little change.
Central Marlborough, Kaikoura coast and Canterbury.—Light to moderate variable winds, northeasterlies predominating about the coasts; areas of morning fog in Canterbury, soon clearing, otherwise fine; cool night, warm afternoon temperatures. Outlook: similar conditions.
