"Th* Press’- Special Servtc* AUCKLAND, November 23. Although not as strongly represented as in the last few years, when it had a good measure of success, the Auckland and Waikato Contingent for the Wanganui Trotting Club’s meeting which will open on Saturday is competent.
On the other hand, the opposition from Taranaki, Manawatu and Wellington is more solid and the northerners will have to work hard to maintain their record. Retreat may be the best of the Auckland entry in the first leg. the Liverpool Handicap, but his former stablemate Golden Ego, the Hawera horses, Kathryn Earl and True Gold, have better recent form.
