WELLINGTON, Nov. 23. Additional expenditure to meet the cost of Government losses in Wellington’s Aotea Quay fire is provided for in the Supplementary Estimates presented to the House of Representatives today. The estimates include £95.295 to meet Post Office fire losses and £134.500 to replace stationery aryl printing equipment destroyed The Supplementary Estimates for this financial year total £2.477,545 They include: Eradication of tuberculosis in factory supply dairy herds, compensation and testing costs (less £185.000 provided in main estimates tor compensation payments), £330.000. Compensation and costs for withdrawal and disposal of insecticides. £ 185,000.
Additional assistance to farmers affected by floods in South Auckland. Canterbury and Wairarapa. £5OOO. Acquisition, development and farming of nasella tussock areas. £lOO.OOO. Additional television equipment £43.600. Prime Minister of Western Samoa’s visit to New Zealand. £lOOO. Grant towards New Zealand Brass Bands Association’s overseas tour. £5OOO. Government subsidies on contributions to Maori Education Foundation. £59.000. Additional telecommunications equipment, £500.000. Additional contribution to Social Security Fund. £500.000. Additional sum to meet Increased cost of social security prescriptions, £500,000.
