MINOR FIRES
One unit from the Sockburn station attended a chimney fire at the home of Mr L. Taylor, 53 Centennial avenue, Riccarton, at 8.15 a.m. yesterday. At 12.22 p.m. units from the Central and St. Albans stations extinguished a fire in a garage beneath a house owned by Mr R. B. Miller, at 29 Hadlow place. Slight damage was done to the wall and ceiling and the varnish on a boat in the garage was blistered. A unit from the Sockburn station and a tender of the Paparua County Council put out a grass fire on the property of Austral Cables. Ltd., in Halswell Junction road at 12.52 p.m.
