TEACHERS’ COLLEGE
Frequent Staff Changes
There should be more avenues for promotion within the Teachers’ College, the Canterbury Education Board was told yesterday by Mr G. Guy. principal of the college. “There have been 15 staff changes so far this year.” said Mr Guy. “While some staff movement is healthy, giving us more vitality, I think we are now having too much for the efficient running of the college. "In this period of rapid expansion and teacher shortage it is pleasing to see some staff gaining promotion to oositions outside the college. But I would like to see more, avenues for promotion within the college. "I believe teacher-training deserves to have senior positions sufficiently attractive to gain and hold the best staff available in this country." The board adopted Mr Guy’s report, but it did not discuss his statement of the college staffing situation.
