ROOTES GROUP EXPANSION
A new factory to produce aluminium die-castings is to be established in Scotland by the Rootes Group. The factory will initially employ 500 persons and will involve an expenditure of £llim. It will supply castings for the new Rootes small car and for other industrial concerns. During the last month the Rootes Group has announced plans to build a £lm assembly plant in Venezuela, an agreement with the Italian firm of Carrozzeria Touring for the assembly of the Sunbeam Alpine, and a renewed contract with the Isuzu Motor Company of Tokyo for the manufacture of 1500 Hillman cars a month for the Japanese market
