NATIONAL ROSE CONVENTION
300 Visitors To Christchurch Next week will be an important one for Canterbury rose lovers. For the National Rose Convention is being held in Christchurch 'then, from Tuesday, November 21, to Saturday, November 25. The Canterbury Rose Society is acting as hosts to visitors from all parts of New Zealand, and of the 400 persons registered for the Convention more than 300 will be visitors. A comprehensive programme has been arranged, including visits to the Botanic Gardens, Lincoln College, and Akaroa, to see its old-time roses, as well as a sight-seeing trip around the Port Hills. The home gardener will have an opportunity to see some of the finest in modern roses, for' the National Rose Show and the Canterbury Horticultural Society's Rose Show are being held conjointly on Thursday and Friday, November 23 and 24, at the Society of Arts Hall, corner of Armagh and Durham streets. This show will be open to members of the public as well as convention members, and will be well worth a visit.
