HOPES TO SWIM COOK STRAIT
Miss Sweeney’s Plans (N.Z. Press Association) BLENHEIM, Nov. 16. The New Zealand longdistance swimmer. Miss Margaret Sweeney, of Tokoroa. hopes to swim Cook Strait towards the end of this year. Advice of this has been received in Blenheim from Mr W Rennison. of Tokoroa, who is making arrangements on Miss Sweeney’9 behalf. Cook Strait, with its 16mile stretch of fey waters and changing currents; has been a perpetual challenge to New Zealand and overseas long-distance swimmers. *So far it is unbeaten. '*
